Hi Ariela
I previously had a plug type hair transplant on my frontal hairline more than 20 years ago in London. Although it was better than many of the horror pictures I had seen on the internet, as I slowly lost more hair (I have been on Regaine and Propecia for a long time) the plugs have become more evident. After much research I decided against having another transplant in the UK or Europe and decided to visit 3 consultants in the US. All the consultations were free. I was fairly impressed with all 3 but chose Dr Epstein primarily because of the confidence he inspired in me during the consultation. The main other reasons for my selection were his vast experience in reparative work and the fact that he did not see the need to shave the transplant area.
I had the operation in his New York office, flying in the night before. It was a long day (7 am to 5 pm) and apart from a bit of pain from the first couple of needles had no pain during the procedure and only slight discomfort on the next couple of days (I flew back to the UK 2 days later). His team were very caring and put me at ease.
It's now nearly 3 weeks post-op and the whole experience has been better than my best expectations. I'm quite fair and so was concerned about prolonged redness on my hairline but it was gone in a week. My donor scar is healing well and hidden by my hair. Everything has gone as Dr Epstein described it should go. I'm now looking forward to seeing the results over the next year. My heartfelt thanks go to Dr Epstein and his team.
Rgds
