DR. EPSTEIN: This is my patient pre-operatively. I am taking this from a photograph and here he is today. He is here for a second procedure. He had around 2,500 grafts. He has some blue markings because we are going to be doing a second procedure on him but you can see what his hairline looks like today and really quite natural. You can see a nice feathered hairline that gets more and more dense as we move into the anterior area when he puts his head down.
What we are going to be doing today is primarily working on filling in this whole mid scalp area (and if you come around here Jackie) you can see we are going to go from here all the way back to here.
Lets take a look at his donor site scar which has healed up really quite beautifully. You see just a very fine line scar with hairs growing through it. He does have that nice hair with which to work, that salt and pepper colored hair.
His first procedure was almost 2,400 grafts and with this procedure I plan on doing around 2,000-2,100 grafts which will allow me to get the coverage that he desires but he has already told me he is delighted with his hairline. He likes that it is not a straight line. Is that right?
PATIENT: That is right.
