Bad hair transplants are, unfortunately, not uncommon. In fact, some 30% of Dr. Epstein's patients are revision patients looking to improve the appearance of a previous bad hair transplant. In most cases, unsatisfactory results occur from outdated methods or transplants that were performed years ago during the early days of hair transplantation.

Pluggy grafts, unnatural hairlines, improper angling of grafts and scarring can all be treated. A variety of techniques may be used to improve the appearance of a bad hair transplant, including scar revision, removal and retransplantation of large or malpositioned grafts, revision micro/minigrafting, scalp reduction, and laser skin resurfacing.
