AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Brave Alex had an eyebrow transplant procedure by Dr. Epstein to give him back the eyebrow that was partly lost as the result of a dog bite. |
Dr. Epstein specializes in all microscopic follicular unit grafting, with special expertise in the repair of prior hair transplants, eyebrow and facial hair work, hair loss in women, and large procedures (as large as 4,500-plus grafts in select patients) for almost 15 years. Given his extensive training in plastic surgery, he is unique in the hair transplant field, and brings his aesthetic background to his work, as well as being able to offer combined facial plastic surgery and hair restoration procedures for those patients seeking more improvement in appearance. Over the past 2 years, Dr. Epstein has also been at the forefront in performing the technique of follicular unit extraction (FUE), which allows for essentially no detectable donor site scarring.

Pictured here is Dr. Epstein with two doctors visiting him from
Thailand. | Regularly featured by the media for his expertise in the treatment of hair loss and the full scope of aesthetic concerns in men and women, Dr. Epstein is also considered a "doctor's doctor", with a large number of his patients coming from the medical field, due to amongst other things his large number of scientific publications.

The FHR procedure and operating room suites in Miami and New York City (where his associate Dr. Yael Halaas also operates) have achieved the highest accreditation for a surgical facility. In addition, due to his commitment to producing the most aesthetic and technically advanced results, he works with a team of 17 full-time hair transplant technicians who dissect all of the hair grafts using binocular microscopes. He also uses, like all of the other FHR doctors, the computerized Wand for administering anesthesia to make sure the procedure is virtually pain free.

Dr. Epstein performs all consultations at his clinic personally. He has many patients from throughout the U.S., Europe and Latin America with whom he communicates with, as he is fluent in Spanish. He stresses the importance of establishing a solid doctor-patient relationship. Each step of the process, from the initial consultation, to the actual procedure(s), and follow-up care, is performed personally by Dr. Epstein. His patients appreciate that he personally calls them on the evening of their procedure.
In addition to doing excellent hair transplantation, with up to 4,500 all microscopically prepared highly refined follicular unit grafts in one session, he also frequently repairs prior transplants on patients who have had outdated procedures performed. He has developed a particular expertise in this area and has authored numerous articles and presented his techniques at national meetings. While many of his patients are men, Dr. Epstein is also a recognized expert in the treatment of hair loss in women, having authored articles in this area. He also performs facial, eyebrow, eyelash and body hair transplants.
In August of 2002 he was honored as "Surgeon of the Month" by the prominent professional journal - the Hair Transplant Forum International. In addition, he is the recipient of the Jack Anderson Memorial Award for receiving the highest score in the nation on the exam for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. OVERVIEW: Dr. Jeffrey Epstein has been in solo private practice in Miami since 1994, and New York City since 2005, and is a Clinical Professor at the University of Miami. A Past President of the Florida Society of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Epstein publishes and lectures extensively, and is considered a foremost expert in the field of surgical hair restoration. Dr. Epstein also provides pro bono reconstructive surgery to children and other people of need.
As Founder and Director of the Foundation for Hair Restoration and Plastic Surgery in 2008, Dr. Epstein has created a multi-doctor, multi-state associated practice for cosmetic surgeons, one which is physician owned and controlled.
