No surprises, so far.  I'm following the post-op instructions pretty much to the letter, except the parts dealing with the headband, of course.  Observations:

Thursday (day of surgery) - Walked to mall from hotel, ate dinner (pasta place across from Cheesecake Factory), walked around for a few minutes, then took hotel shuttle back.  Tired, but very little pain or seepage. Used ice off and on for a couple of hours.  Took one Tyl3 and the Ambian.  Slept well enough, a little seepage on towel.

Friday - Head wash at your office, received additional materials and final instructions.  Rode shuttle to airport and checked bags (including GraftCyte liquid) appx 11:00a, through security by 11:30a.  Plane took off at appx 1:30p.  Arrived Atlanta appx 3:20p.  Waited for bags until appx 4:30p.  Delta temporarily lost the bag with the GraftCyte!!  Eventually, appx 5:00p, it showed up having been sent on a different flight from Miami .  Time between GraftCyte applications, appx 6 hours.  Two-hour drive home from Atlanta airport.  Used Allieve, no Tyl3; very little pain and seepage, some swelling on forehead.  Used ice packs off and on for rest of evening. Took 2 Benedryl and slept well enough with head slightly elevated (probably should have been more elevated in retrospect.) 

Emphatic suggestion: Provide to flying patients a small bottle of GraftCyte, 4 oz or less, for carry-on under the new Homeland Security rules!

Saturday & Sunday - Washed head gently as per instructions.  Crusts hardening, beginning to itch.  Wore bandanna almost continuously and stayed mostly in my home office, away from people.  (Note: Bandanna is ideal - light weight, but enough to cover and help keep hands off.  Only drawback is that it's significantly different from usual cap, so raises questions.) 

Bottom line: So far, so good.  Really looking forward to being able to shower normally and begin carefully working on those crusts!
