Questions about traveling

Approximately 70% of our hair transplant patients travel to our offices from throughout the US and the world for their hair restoration procedures. In fact, Dr. Epstein has performed procedures on patients from 49 of the 50 United States, and from over 40 countries. It requires a surgeon with a trained hand to create the most natural appearing result that mimics mother nature and is undetectable to even the most critical eye. To ensure delivery of these results to the Foundation for Hair Restoration patients, Dr. Epstein has extended its affiliation solely to those hand-selected surgeons throughout the country who are Diplomats of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and/or the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and who have proven themselves to be as committed to perfection as Dr. Epstein.

Planning For a Procedure: vitamins, restrictions, scalp massaging and laser brush
Posted June 11, 2009 4:51 PM in A Procedure Step by Step

Hello Doctor After scheduling the procedure; 6/30 does not arrive soon enough. I am excited! I have a few preparation questions for my procedure and others may come to mind in the next week or so. 1. I reviewed your restrictions on E, ginko, multi’s etc. Do I need to stop taking Biotin, COQ10, Glucosamine/Chondroitin, Ginseng, & Selenium, beta carotene? 2. My scalp seems to get tight; would it be helpful if I started to massage the scalp in an attempt to create some looseness? After our consultation, I reviewed my notes from 1994 and the scar at the very center of my scalp had the most difficulty healing. I now recall that is why they took the second donor site lower. 3. I use a laser brush 2-3 times/ week;... continue

Using FUE to repair grafts along the hairline.
Posted June 11, 2009 4:39 PM in Reparative Procedures

Hi Dr. Epstein, I have had a couple of procedures with you, primarily correction, camouflage, and reduction of large 4/5 mm grafts and mini grafts. You removed parts of the larger grafts using a punch and added 700-800 FUI to the hairline area. It did help, but I still have too many large grafts in the hairline and the frontal part of my skull and want to get as close to natural as possible. I had previous DR's try to camouflage with additional hair also, and I am convinced that hiding the grafts with more hair is just doing exactly that, hiding the problem. I have been researching graft reduction and angle correction on line and some Dr's (including Dr. Cole in Atlanta) use FUE to remove the appropriate number... continue

Hairline Lowering Procedure- FUE vs. FUG
Posted June 04, 2009 4:04 PM

If I do the procedure I would like Dr. Epstein to do it. I have some questions. I have gone to two doctors in Houston. No one with the credentials of Dr. Epstein and two other doctors. What kind of hair restoration does Dr. Epstein prefer? I was told that FUE is not as good as the grafting method. I know that with the FUE the scar is concealed better when lowering the hairline but if the doctor is a good doctor the scar won't be visible with the taditional method. Is that true? I also have read about another doctor's approach. Megasession + dense pack. Equal greatest amunt of hair and gretest possible coverage. Is that true? And can u do that?... continue

Chest Hair Transplant- Natural Appearing Results
Posted June 01, 2009 10:51 AM in Body Hair Transplants

Dear Dr. Epstein, I'm considering a chest hair tansplant, but first I have a question to you. Do clients sometimes complain, after an operation, that they are too hairy on that body part, in comparison with their legs and arms? Thank you, and congratulations on your work.... continue
